AFP CFRE Refresher Course

June 1, 2018

Attend AFP CFRE Refresher Course in Chattanooga June 1, 2018

Advance your journey toward CFRE certification through the self-exploration of knowledge and peer exchange of best practices — facilitated by knowledgeable fundraising practitioners — with the AFP CFRE Refresher Course. What better place to speed your journey than Chattanooga, the “Scenic City” on the Tennessee River that’s known as one of the best locales in America for exciting activities, good eating and outdoor adventures.

About the Course

The one-day AFP CFRE Refresher Course on June 1, 2018, offers development professionals like you a new approach that asks you to apply fundraising theory, skills and techniques within the six knowledge domains of the field, based on experience at the five-year level. The course is not presented in a lecture format; rather, it is a combination of a high-level review, self-exploration of knowledge and peer exchange of best practices – all of which are based on using a case study approach.

The course also would be appropriate for CEOs and members of the board and development committee, adding tremendous knowledge of fundraising practice to an organization’s operations and governance.

Facilitators: Lisa Kennedy, ACFRE; Kim Lauth, CFRE. Moderator: D.C. Dreger, ACFRE

Tucked between the mountains of Southeast Tennessee, along the beautiful Tennessee River, Chattanooga is one of America's most breathtaking cities. There's a world of outdoor adventure, aquariums, amazing restaurants, live events, Civil War and railroading history, 13-mile Riverwalk, guitar museum, art and other world-class attractions waiting for you here.

You might consider taking a family weekend vacation. A suggested itinerary can be found here: https://www.chattanoogafun.com/plan-your-trip/suggested-itineraries/three-day-family-vacation/

Your family members can begin their adventure in the Scenic City while you prepare to advance your career. And then you can join them later to enjoy the weekend!

Participation in the AFP CFRE Refresher Course may assist you in learning or reviewing concepts covered on the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) examination as detailed on the Test Content Outline provided by CFRE International. However, the AFP CFRE Refresher Course is not designed specifically as a prep course for the exam. It is designed to provide a review of concepts one should know at the five-year experience level.

AFP highly recommends that this refresher course be just one of the resources you use in preparing to take the CFRE exam.  Your study should also include reading books that appear on the CFRE Resource Reading List.
