The SE TN AFP awards two scholarships each year, the Chamberlain Scholarship and McClarty Scholarship.
The Chamberlain Scholarship program honors Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE. Mr. Chamberlain had a long and distinguished career of service to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Because of his long-time support of the Foundation’s annual fund and generous planned gift, the AFP Board of Directors renamed their Conference Scholar Program in 2000 to honor Mr. Chamberlain’s memory and commitment to the Association. The 54th AFP International Conference on Philanthropy to be held April 30-May 2, 2017, in San Francisco.
The scholarship covers registration fees and an additional $500 stipend from the SE TN Chapter. The winner will be asked to provide a report at one of the monthly meetings following attendance at the conference and complete an online evaluation form about his or her experience at International Conference.

The SE Tennessee Chapter of AFP may award one or more Jack McClarty Scholarships each year based upon competitive application. Jack was a founding member of the chapter and development director at Southern Adventist University. Scholarship applicants must be employed full-time and be individuals newly employed in the field of fund raising (less than 2 years). Scholarships may be renewable subject to decision of the Executive Committee of the SE Tennessee AFP Chapter. Introductory scholarships may be awarded for no more than two (2) years.offers new fundraisers a one-year membership to the Southeast Tennessee AFP chapter.
